Beverly Hills, 90210 Trading Cards #6: Beach Boy

Oooh, Ian Ziering! What a baldwin!

When I was nine years old, I hated his character the most on 90210. I thought he was not cute at all, and that Luke Perry was the babe. Then again, I hardly watched the show because I wasn't allowed to, and my deep hatred of him was probably due to my friends (who were actually allowed to watch it and had discriminating taste). They preferred the real bad boys I guess.

That's Just Stinkin' Thinkin'!

Are you having a bad day? Feeling down in the dumps? Take a note from Stuart Smalley and sit yourself in front of a mirror, telling yourself this classic daily affirmation:

"I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, and doggone it, people like me!"

Works like a charm.

In related news, I'm adding this awesomeness to my wishlist.

Unreal Moments in Capeside, #3

There wasn't anything particularly unbelievable about this episode. Dawson tries to stage the perfect romantic first kiss with Jen. Jen takes a part in the high school movie "Helmets of Glory" to spend more time with Dawson. Joey lies about her life to some new dude that shows up in town. And Pacey continues to hook up with Tamara, a teacher at the high school. I suppose that would be the most unreal aspect, but I remember the stories about teachers and students at my own high school (and not even the good looking teachers!).

The back and forth between these two is incredibly boring. Pacey is pushy and then Tamara is all, "This is wrong, go find someone your own age", then immediately she gives in to him. She's uninteresting, flaky and easy. And Pacey is the only one in town with an East Coast accent. What's up with that?

Motor City Comic Con 2013: Worth the 1.5 Hour Line

Buffy the Vampire Slayer is yet another show that should have appealed to me but I never thought to watch it when it was new. A few years ago I watched every episode though, loving the wardrobe and actually enjoying (most of) the show. And of course there was Spike. How could I not like Spike?

Yesterday I attended the Motor City Comic Con. Spike wasn't there, but Xander was! He attracted a lot of crazy Buffy fans, like a group of girls dressed as Buffy, Willow and Giles that were just not pulling it off. So he was pretty busy, but we did manage to get this photo with him. He also hugged us in a very intimate manner (not complaining, he smelled pretty fresh). Did you know he overcame a speech impediment? Pretty impressive.

I also met Alex Winter of Lost Boys, Bill & Ted and Freaked fame. I've seen Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure about a million times but I managed to play it cool and not get crazy. And why am I wearing a "High on Stress" shirt? Well that's because I also got to meet.....

Booger! This post is deviating more and more from the 90s, but hey, I love Booger. And he loves me, according to the autograph I got. Revenge of the Nerds is one of the best 80s movies, so if you haven't seen it yet, what are you waiting for??

This Almost Makes Me Want to Go to Warped Tour

Third Wave Ska: go ahead and pretend to hate it! I know it secretly puts a smile on your face.

Beverly Hills, 90210 Trading Cards #5: That Smarts!

Poor Andrea Zuckerman.. a character thrown in to balance out the dumb rich kids of Beverly. A character that was given embarrassing storylines such as throwing herself at Brandon. And a character that had to wear giant 90s glasses because she was book smart. That of course means that her trading card is extremely lame.
